Hmm....I guess for this to be a true blog, I should probably post something every few days. So, here is the latest from me.
First, I love quotes so I will usually post one that means something special to me at the time. Feel free to send me those you love, I would love to read them!
It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Why am I blogging? Well, to be honest, it was an assignment for my Research and Development Class. I was asked to begin a blog or other type of online journal/diary. Next, I was supposed to search out some of my friends/relatives that I haven't been able to talk to in awhile. I was lucky enough to have both work together.
So, there you go. This worked out perfectly! However, I have waivered on who to actually have read this as I kind of love the idea of an online journal that can document things without feeling too far exposed. Does that make any sense? So, for now, I haven't really invited anyone (other than the original one person) to blog with.
I am at a particularly busy time in life and I'm sure it will be nice to look back at these posts one day.
The latest update on me? Well, as many of you know (if you ever read this, haha) I sold my last franchise a little over a year ago. (That makes 10 for the KC metro area...wow!) Who would have thought it would have grown so much?!? With our girls all in school full time, it was time that I returned to finish up my degree. I Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Human Relations last May. Currently working double time to finish my Masters degree in Organizational Administration with an emphasis in International / Global Business. (Both degrees with MidAmerica Nazarene University) Just returned from my International trip for school, and now just found out after a VERY rigorous interview process that I will be starting a career with Garmin in a week! Yea!!! I love this company. It was definitely my first choice, for many years, as being the one I wanted to work with when the time was right. I love the people/corporate culture and Danny loves the products...so there ya go!
Wow.....that's a lot to take in. So, as always, life will be in fast forward for the next six months. As I am taking online classes, as well as "traditional" on campus classes, I will graduate in May....I am thrilled to be going to work at Garmin. I was in the process of taking my GMAT to apply for the KU Phd. program but this will side track that for now. We'll just have to see where it takes me!
I am soo lucky that Danny has been 100% behind my finishing school but it will be really strange going to work! The girls couldn't be in better hands as Danny will be home with them all but the 10 days he is at the fire station. It will be good for them to spend alot of "daddy time" with him! : 0 )
Speaking of time getting away - it's 1am so I best log off for tonight. I have homework to do .... and then it's up with the kiddos as they go back to school after turkey break!
Thanks for reading....see ya next time....
